90 assembly constituencies, one page each

Every other record on this site is about a person, and a person leaves. The seat does not: it is the thing a resident actually asks about, and it is still there after the member who held it has gone. These pages are the seat’s side of that — what the boundary file says about it, which of our rows name it, and what the tier is empowered to do, which is a property of the seat rather than of its holder.

Haryana only. The national assembly layer was subset to one state when it was prepared, so no other state has assembly seats here — and a state missing from this list is missing from our data, not from India.

How well our records meet these seats

Counted on this request, not typed in. Of 90 seats in this layer, 0 match at least one row in our table of the right house whose stored state agrees with the file, 0 match more than one, 0 match only a row that spells the state differently, and 90 match nothing at all. In the other direction, our table holds 13 rows for this house, and 13 of them name a seat this file does not contain under any spelling.

This join rests on seat names, and this file's own defect list says of them: "The source README states: 'There is some shift in the data' and 'Some Assemblies Constituency Names seem to be incorrect or Missing'." The parliamentary file prepared alongside it is blunter still — "Never on pc_name" — and our rows carry no constituency id of any kind, so a name is the only join available here too. The figures above are what it costs. A matched row is not evidence that anybody is sitting, either: nobody on this site has been verified as sitting.

Pick a seat

Grouped by the state the file names, in the file’s own numbering. State names are the file’s too, which is why some are not the spelling our own rows use.

The file describes its own geometry as: Pre-2014. The source still files Telangana assembly seats under Andhra Pradesh, which dates the scrape to before the June 2014 state split. None of its 90 features carries the source's "Pre delimitation" flag, which is the absence of a warning rather than a guarantee that every boundary is current.
